Depending on your modding needs, how heavily you would like to invest in mods and plugins will determine whether you need:

  • Oxide: best for lightweight modding, minimal players, smaller map sizes

  • Carbon: best for heavier modding, higher player counts, and larger map sizes

To install either of these options:

  • Log into your and select your DayZ server.

  • Go to the Console tab under the System menu and click "Stop".

    • Power off your server, this is crucial when editing file contents so that nothing is damaged, goes missing, or overlaps and glitches. Also, so that when you start your server backup afterwards your changes are immediately applied.

  • Locate the Configuration menu on the left-hand side, use the dropdown and click the Startup Parameters tab

  • Under "Modding Framework", use the dropdown arrow and select your preference.

  • It will save automatically when you hit "Enter" and navigate away.

  • Once you have entered your changes and they have saved, you can start your server!

Please note that we do not offer any support for this, other than what can be found in this guide. Any tickets opened to this effect will be automatically closed, thank you for your understanding!
