Change Server Name & Password

Server Hostname & Password

To change the server name that will be displayed to other players in-game, and/or to add a password for only your friends to join, follow these easy steps:

• Log into your Game Server Dashboard and select your 7 Days to Die server.

• Go to the Console tab under the System menu and click "Stop".

  • Power off your server, this is crucial when editing file contents so that nothing is damaged, goes missing, or overlaps and glitches. Also, so that when you start your server backup afterwards your changes are immediately applied.

• Locate the Management menu on the left-hand side, use the dropdown and click the File Manager tab.

• Scroll down, locate and open the "serverconfig.xml"

To change the Server Name:

• Locate the <property name="ServerName" value="My Game Host"/>

• Replace the "My Game Host" with "[your server name]" (example 'ScarletteFox')

• If that is the only change you wanted, be sure to click "Save File"!

To add a server password:

• Locate the <property name="ServerPassword" value=""/>

• Replace the "ServerPassword" with '[your password]" (example "BestfriendsOnly123")

• If that is the only change you wanted, be sure to click "Save File"!

Next time you start your server, your new changes will be applied!
