The Files page allows you to manage the core files of your server. Do not make changes unless you have already created a backup of your current server (learn how to do so in the Backups guide).

When modifying files, it is always best to power off your server to ensure there are no data hiccups, damage, or oopsies. Always protect your precious data!

info

Basic modifications are okay, such as changing simple settings within your server's configuration files.

The Files page displays every file and folder on your server, along with each item's size and when it was last modified. Click a folder to open it, or use the path at the top of the page to jump back.

Managing Files

From the buttons at the top of the page you can:

  • Create a New File or New Folder;
  • Upload files from your computer, you can also drag and drop files onto the page, and;
  • Search for a file by name.

Each file and folder also has its own actions menu, which allows you to:

  • Rename or Move the item;
  • Download it to your computer;
  • Archive (compress) it, or Unarchive an existing archive;
  • Change its Permissions, and;
  • Delete it.

You can also select multiple items using the checkboxes to move, archive, or delete them all at once.

Editing a File

  • Click on a file to open it in the built-in editor.
  • Make your changes.
  • When you are finished, always ensure you click "Save", or all your hard work will be lost!
